Tuina/Qigong Therapy is a one year full time academic program designed to develop marketing/management skills for students with Tuina/Qigong certificates.
Upon completing this course, students should be ready to manage the challenges they would face if they choose to open their own wellness centre. This Program consisted of 6 months of academic study followed by 6 months of on-the-job training.
Students will enroll in classes to learn about the foundations of marketing and management of a business, and they will have the choice of one technical elective of their choice.
For the marketing courses, students will learn about the marketing strategies and be introduced to Canadian economy. For the management courses, students will learn about basic management skills, as well as how to handle some of the real life difficulties for running a business, such as filling out patient’s treatment plans, and learning about hiring the right lawyer and accountant. As for the Technical Elective, Students could choose from a list of Tuina/Qigong related course offered by the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of their choice.
After successfully completing all academic studies, students will enter the co-op program as management trainees, where they apply their knowledge, at local wellness centers.
At the end of the program, students will be evaluated by both their academic knowledge and practical skill, and students with satisfactory grades will be awarded Tuina/Qigong Therapy Business Diploma. |
