Welcome to Department of Osteopathy

 

OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL PRACTICE

All applicants must be regulated healthcare professionals only.

Course Outline

Duration of the complete academic program is 6 years plus 1 year of thesis work.
The first 4 year’s is full time program which trains full scope of practice physicians capable of integrating the principles and application of the osteopathy philosophy into a complete health care approach to their patients.
Year 5 and 6 consist of 7 modules each.

Frequency: 5 weeks intervals.

Duration of each Module: 5 days.
Year 7 complete Thesis and Electives. The curriculum focuses on osteopathic concepts, philosophy, diagnosis and treatment.

The development of manual skills requires time and practice. Supervised clinical practice is an essential aspect of training as an Osteopath.

The examination may entail multiple sections: written, practical & oral.
The aim of this level of training is to provide an education in osteopathic science, and osteopathic clinical diagnosis and treatment to meet the minimum competencies for practice as a primary contact health care provider with emphasis on the treatment of neuro-musculoskeletal dysfunctions.
