Why study Neuro-Auricular Acupuncture?

The ear receives 4 cranial nerves, including CN X, the Vagus Nerve which interfaces with the parasympathetic control of the heart, lungs, digestive and urogenital systems. This is why the ear can treat multiple internal medicine diseases. The advantage that auricular acupuncture has over corporal and scalp acupuncture is the ease in targeting detailed auricular projections of the entire Central Nervous System. Scalp acu can only affects cortical areas, while deeper areas like mid-brain (substantia nigra), limbic system (PTSD), pons, reticular formation (circadian rhythm) etc cannot be reached. That's why auriculotherapy makes such a good compliment to corporal acupuncture in treating autonomic, endocrine and metabolic diseases.

Why study with Dr. David Alimi MD?

Dr. David Alimi is in his 70s with 32 years of auricular medicine experience. He is president of l’Institut International d’Auriculothérapie Médicale Scientifiqu and former director of a two year auriculotherapy diploma program at the Faculty of Medicine of Paris only taught to MD and Dentists. What sets him apart is that he was trained as a clinical neurophysiologist, so his approach has a scientific rational and informed by his MRI research of the ear segmentogram to the brain. The founder of Battlefield Acupuncture, Richard Niemtzow, was his former student and learned the BFA protocol from Alimi. Dr. Alimi also lead hospital departments offering auriculotherapy in Paris. He is the author of the textbook Scientific Basis of Medical Auriculotherapy: www.amazon.ca/Lauriculothérapie-Médicale-Bases-Scientifiques-Principes/dp/2294754425
