COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course introduces the fundamental theory, classical literature, and practice of traditional Chinese qigong exercises for health and longevity. Students gain a direct personal experience on the concept of qi cultivation and its development and use in TCM as a foundation for their ongoing practices, personal well-being, and eventual healing applications.





INSTRUCTOR BIOGRAPHY:

Claire Turner Reid is a movement artist and educator who teaches the Axis Syllabus, Internal Arts, and Dance. She is a member of Spiritwind Internal Arts where she is a certified instructor in Qigong, Taijiquan, and Dao In Lung Shen. Claire is a Level 2 Certified Radiant Lotus Women’s Qigong instructor under the guidance of Daisy Lee. Claire is faculty at the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, as a Qigong Instructor. She also teaches programs for seniors in Qigong, Taijiquan, and Falling Prevention & Negotiation through the City of Guelph. She is a Certified and Certifying Teacher of the Axis Syllabus©️, has a Diploma of Acupuncture from OCTCM Toronto, and has a BFA in Acting from the University of Windsor. She teaches online, internationally, and locally in Guelph and the GTA. Claire uses movement research and healing practices to deepen awareness, honour the integrity of the body, and enrich inter-relational possibilities. Her teaching and research encourages exploration of the body in motion for more connected living.
